Many people give advice to Graduates, but Mitch Young’s six recommendations to Forsyth Central’s 2021 class didn’t disappoint.
1) Be Grateful
2) Be Humble
3) Focus on Fulfillment
4) Start Engaging
5) Be Committed to Our Country
6) Have Faith
The next time you hear something that seems to agree with something or someone you already believe (or with which you disagree), take a moment to consider whether you are evaluating the current situation on its merits (or drawing a conclusion based upon other influence).
We would all be better off focusing on making small incremental changes that lead us to our goals than making lists of actions that we perceive as drudgery & punishment! It is no wonder that Change is so difficult when we wax poetic about the joyous End State and fail to focus on (and celebrate) the steps in the Journey.
The most important step to any change is the first one! If you have been frustrated in the past with resolutions unfinished and goals that were never realized. Begin focusing your attention on single, small changes that you can make today that will move you closer toward your desired end state.
Good Lead Magnets have the following characteristics. They are specific, speak to the customer’s Desired End State, immediately consumable, and change our relationship with the customer.
Poor performing Lead Magnets usually often share some of the same problems. They either fail to attract prospects from within your target market or transform those strangers into parties interested in what you have to offer.
Too many of us work (and live) for our vacation time. We treat our jobs as something we have to do in between those occasional moments when we’ve “earned the right” to be away from them. It is little wonder that millions of people work for years like this only to find retirement that they looked to all that time wholly unfulfilling.
Too many of us lead lives defined by the things that upset and frustrate us. Often it seems as if we view the world through a lens of “What is wrong” or “What we don’t like”.
On the other hand, a positive outlook is both finding those things that are good as well as recognizing when you’ve found them.
As for the 2021 Draft “winners”, I would have to say that the San Francisco 49ers did an effective job of obfuscating their plans in the lead-up attention to Alabama’s Mac Jones. When they “surprised” everyone by picking Trey Lance instead, that created some stir among the following picks. One big winner stands to be the New England Patriots who were able to stand pat at their 15th pick having Jones instead fall into their lap.
During Pre-Draft, fans of the 31 teams who did not win the Super Bowl eye hopefully for the next crop of college athletes who will change the future of their team. Regardless of the hype, it often turns out to be more like having a Porsche in 16th century England.
