Enjoy The Time
Editor’s Note: This newsletter was originally published on Monday, December 19th, 2022.
Time is one of our rarest resources. Time spent with those whom you care about is even more precious. Be sure that you are treating it as such as your go through this holiday season.
Things today seem to move at a near-sprinting, frantic pace. It is too easy to let day-to-day events and emergencies consume all of your time and energy.
As we’re approaching another year-end, my recommendation is to take a few moments to reflect and review. Similarly, take time to just spend it with those about whom you most care.
Client calls or conflict resolutions are important but just as important are those memories of a movie shared, a meal eaten, or a chilly walk taken.
Be sure to reserve the needed time for those things you should do (or even just want to do). There are always those things we have to do (and there will always be more of them)!
Have a Merry Christmas & I hope you have a great start to your New Year!

Unrelated Sports Mention
- UGA is now in preparations for December 31st and their appearance in the Peach Bowl for the CFP Semi-Finals against Ohio State. Last year ended great & 2022 has continued that excitement. If they are able to finish with two more wins, these past two seasons will combine for an amazing slice of history. As I often say, how you start is important; how you finish is what everyone remembers! #GoDawgs
- My Falcons lost another game today to the New Orleans Saints. As frustrating as the losses are, we started the season seeing gaps & holes in their roster. They have largely been competitive throughout the season. Again, finishing well would go a long way, but winning usually depends upon those “little things” that they just aren’t doing well enough right now. However, since quitting isn’t an option, the only choice is to keep playing and try to work on those things you control!
Albert Einstein is credited with the quote that “Doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result is the definition of insanity”.
A corollary to that idea might be doing the same thing that failed for someone else will often give you the same results!
It is frustrating to see people making the same mistakes over and over. It is especially frustrating when we feel like we’re repeatedly cleaning the messes that they continue to make.
Just remember that is it not just our lessons from which we need to learn.
We can learn just as much by watching the outcomes of others. Learning from the successes or failures of others can speed up the process and often avoid a lot of heartache and pain.
What is the biggest lesson that you could learn from watching someone else’s life? How might your results turn out differently?

- Our rank is an important measure. More important is how it changes over time in response to the effort we invest.
