Sirus Digital Newsletter – Edition 10

If you're note creating and publishing content with your audience in mind, they can't hear you!
Content (especially video content) continues to be a wide-open space. While there is more published than ever before, our appetite and need for new, fresh content has never been greater. If you produce content, keep producing. If not, start!

Instead of having a feeling of pressure or “writer’s block”, I’ve actually thought of more topics to share as we’ve gone along. (Hopefully, you see that as a positive thing. LOL!)

It’s shaping up to be a busy 4th Q of 2020!

Along that note, I want to recommend that you find an interest, passion, or new activity that you can start over the next couple of weeks. There’s been quite a bit of “doom-and-gloom” of late, but, in hindsight, some of the biggest successes grew out of challenging situations.

Regardless of how Covid-19 progresses or who wins an election, it’s our responses to events that produce the history. In a couple of weeks, I’ll be sharing all of the things that I’ve been working on recently and I’d love to hear that from all of you.

P.S. If things go well, we will have gotten FOOTBALL again! If things go doubly well, the mighty Falcons led by Matt Ryan, Julio Jones, and Grady Jarrett will have soundly defeated the ne’er-do-well evil-doing Seahawks from Seattle by the time this newsletter is sent. If not, then I hate coffee anyway!

#RiseUp 🙂

Updated: Falcons lost 38-25 with the story told by the fact that Free Agent signee Todd Gurley carried 10 times for 51 yards in the 1st half but finished with 14 carries for 56. Along with going 0-3 on 4th down conversions, you don’t win many games like that.

#CrashLanding 🙁

Additional Note: There were a number of disappointing losses soon to follow for the Falcons leading up to the firing of their Head Coach, Dan Quinn.

As mentioned in Edition 9, the Real Estate Coffee Break is podcast LIVE on Saturday mornings at 11:00 AM ET. You can check out a replay of the most recent episode at this link.

If you’re interested in Real Estate (be it your own home or as an investor), be sure to listen in.

John does Live Q&A on the show so if you have questions about real estate or real estate investing, he’s your guy!

One of the biggest topics recently has been regulatory CDC declaration affecting evictions and dispossessory actions. I’ve not seen or heard anyone else digging harder to get the details for what it means and what that means for landlords.

I’ve had guest segments on the show recently talking about Social Media for Real Estate Professionals (and others connected to real estate). Be sure to check those out as well!

Content is exploding as more and more companies are trying to build more cost-effective marketing plans. In our Covid-19 environment, advertising budgets have gotten smaller; raw advertising costs have risen.

Over a year ago, I created this series sharing ideas for creating more effective videos for YouTube. Much of the series was based upon this premise because the biggest mistake many creators make is developing their content based upon their vision as opposed to what their intended audience seeks.

Remember, YouTube is a social platform, but it is also the #2 Search Engine in the world. The underlying goal of all successful Search Engines is to provide the best answer to user queries that satisfy their intent. If your video (or other content) satisfies user intent, you will get traffic. If it does not, you will not.

You can check out the series at this link.

Here are a few other things that I have caught my eye this week! I included a quick synopsis, but I would love to hear your thoughts on them as well!

Organic Reach declining
This is an interesting post from our friends at Hootsuite. While the title highlights the perception (and reality) that organic reach gets more and more challenging, it also correctly highlights that good organic-focused practices are the best foundations for an effective paid advertising strategy. (Note: The more effectively you can dial in your models, the more cost-efficient and effective your campaigns – both organic and paid – are going to be!)

Neil Patel Traffic Hack
If you have a website and you’re looking to increase traffic, don’t miss this post by Neil Patel. Embedding tools is a solid long-term traffic strategy that is inexpensive compared to the attention (and audience) that it can bring. I’ve learned a lot from Neil & his other FREE self-directed training programs (about topics like SEO, E-commerce, etc) are amazing. He frankly gives away more value than many sell in their programs!

Mortgage Rates Continue to fall
If you are someone with good credit and have a mortgage that you are going to paying on for a while, it would benefit you to check your refinance options. At some point, they will again start to rise and (as silly as it probably sounds for us to keep saying it), rates can’t drop much lower and, once they start rising, they might not be this low for a while.

If you’re in Georgia, check with Peter Berk at Reliant Mortgage Solutions.

I’m always open to topic suggestions and other links, be sure to add them in the comments below or share them via email.
