Sirus Digital Newsletter – Edition 13

Implementation, not Ideas, is the key to real success.
If there is one thing that I have learned as I am starting Sirus Digital, it is the importance of creating the processes and capabilities to deliver consistently. Ideas without Action are like seeds sitting on a counter.

Implementation, not Ideas, is the key to real success.

The above quote is one of my favorites from The Ultimate Sales Machine.

If there is one thing that I have learned as I am starting Sirus Digital, it is the importance of creating the processes and capabilities to deliver consistently. Ideas without Action are like seeds sitting on a counter.

I have had a number of conversations with people and a common refrain has been “how tough” it is to accomplish things. More often than not, we are just upset that we have not yet found the “5 Easy Steps to Microwave Success”.

“Follow these 5 steps (3 of which you can automate with the super-duper Which-Che-Wang that we just happen to sell to those who attend our webinar) and you too can avoid the Chewy-Chunks-of-Degradation and enjoy the Super-Galactic-Universal-Oneness that comes from success!”

[I’ll award this week’s Super-Duper Prize to the first person who responds with where I got that reference! No Google -> You dastardly cheaters!!!]

That aside, there is work involved in everything that has value. That work might be creating a process so that you can delegate it, but the thought and effort energy is a requirement to enjoy the results.

Is there something that you are working on? How might I help? (Feel free to email or add a comment below.)

Here are a few other things that I have caught my eye this week! I included a quick synopsis, but I would love to hear your thoughts on them as well!

Video equipment
I’m about to build a better set for filming my video and I liked this video sharing ideas. If you’re looking to upgrade your location, equipment, or production, check it out.

Improving on Instagram
I’ve learned a lot from Neil Patel about SEO. I’ll be checking out his material on Instagram real soon. Use the above link if you are interested in improving on Instagram.

Death of SEO (Yeah, right!)
This is from our friends at Entrepreneur magazine. It’s behind a paywall and I frankly wasn’t willing to pay to see it. From just reading the early parts of the article, it seemed as if the author’s complaint was that SEO worked differently (not that it didn’t work)!

If I get some time, I may submit an alternative article entitle “How SEO Keeps Getting Better (and How Yours Can Too)!!”

Here’s the focal point: Google (and all other Search Engines) have the simple goal to quickly and successfully deliver the best answers to a user’s questions. It is truly THAT simple. If your content best answers the questions that their users ask, you will rank. If it does not, you will not! (Gee, I may have to add more words because that might be too short to fit behind their paywall!)

Oh and Happy Birthday Google!

Judge issues ruling in Apple vs. Epic
We have not heard the end of this I am sure, but if this judge’s ruling is a harbinger of things to come, Apple is going to be happy. Regardless of the “Legacy” weaponry that Epic brings to this fight, it seems obvious that Apple is going to end up with this “Victory Royale”.
