A Salute To A Special Lady!!
I’d like to take this opportunity to remember a great person who just recently passed away. This past week, my Mother-in-Law, Theresa Kiser departed for her forever home.
I’ve been blessed to know her for nearly 30 years and she always treated me more like a Son (than a Son-in-Law).
Her greatest attribute was her willingness to support the dreams and efforts of others. Whether it was her husband or her daughters or her many family & friends, people could clearly see how she influenced those around her.
Even with her health problems, she avoided being the center of attention. She never complained but was a smiling, positive influence for all of us.
The outpouring of love that we’ve gotten from others after her passing highlights what she meant to everyone she came into contact with.
She’s going to be missed, but she’s breathing much easier surrounded by others who passed along before.
Thanks Mom! #WeLoveYou
We’ve all heard the saying “Idle Hands are the Devil’s Playground”.
Today, people (especially youth) have more free time than ever before. With this wide array of choices and freedom, we also have the widest range of mental health issues and unhealthy behaviors at most any time in history.
In a similar fashion, lacking positive ways to focus our attention and time, we seem to find negative ones.
It’s for this reason that I’ve been involved in Scouting. I remember my youth as a Boy Scout and I enjoyed my work as an adult as my sons participate in the program.
While Scouts BSA is not the only positive youth organization, it is a great one.
Be sure to build meaningful relationships and find good outlets.
For those checking out the book reviews, I reviewed E-Myth Revisited by Michael Gerber. You can check out my notes at this link.
Keep a lookout as I just finished One Million Followers by Brendan Kane and will be posting my notes for that one soon.

Being Is Harder Than Doing
This post highlights the difference in our actions versus instilling a vision & values. While the decision to change behaviors is a big first step to any change, it is the mental aspects and beliefs that enable long-term success. By focusing on the journey as much as the destination, we can initiate growth and consistency.
Web Indexing
This is a good article to develop some understanding of how search engines (Google, Bing, etc) index pages on our websites. We can use this info to guide our website development and content schedules.
If you need some help with both (or either), don’t hesitate to shoot me an email so that we can chat.
Job openings & Unemployment
There has been a lot of attention paid to the tight employee market as our economy moves out of the Covid-19 pandemic. Viewing the multiple economic, legislative, bureaucratic, and cultural changes that have taken effect over the past 18 months, the net result is an extreme crunch for businesses and organizations to hire (and keep) their employees.
Frankly, it is intellectually lazy to blame this situation on specific events or characteristics. Most people who point to one specific “problem” are typically projecting a previously-held perspective as the “cause”.
Solving this complicated problem is going to require a much wider view and it is time our leaders acknowledge that. These are not simply one-dimensional problems & their solutions are going to take to challenge us for a while.
Background on Hydroponic Farming
Most of you know that I’ve been gardening for a couple of years. What started as a “Covid Hobby” has blossomed into something that I enjoy. The “fruits” (vegetables that I’m getting) are a cool outcome too!
As a next phase, I’m considering adding hydroponic/aquaponic techniques to continue learning & expanding my output. (More to come!)
WordPress / PHP versions
I found that my website PHP version had not been updated recently. It had been affecting my site speed. If you own/manage sites, I’d definitely recommend you verify that your versions and plug-ins are up-to-date!
