Sirus Digital Newsletter – Edition 80

The time is always right to do the right thing.
Time is our most precious asset and, unfortunately, the one that too many of us waste. One of our most-heavily used excuses for avoiding something is that "it is not the "right" time". History is awash with excuses that could only be defined as "Not Now". As Reverend King noted, there is never a "wrong" time to do the "right" thing!

There's No Arguing With The Trophy

Editor’s Note: This newsletter was originally published on January 17th, 2022.

Just before writing this week’s newsletter, I watched a recording of UGA’s celebration of the National Championship victory over Alabama last Monday.

I remember writing just last week in advance of the game that I was looking forward to it, felt my Bulldogs had a good chance, and was hopeful that they could finally finish the last leg of a champion’s journey.

With their win over Alabama, they accomplished just that.

Thanks to fans of other teams for their graciousness who reached out – many among this readership. It was truly a fun ride.

I noted with amusement a lot of noise among certain groups who weren’t happy about the outcome. From fans of other teams (and conferences) dissatisfied with another “all-SEC” affair to some parts of Alabama’s fanbase specifically refusing to accept the outcome for whatever reason.

There was even a listener to Paul Finebaum’s show who claimed that “UGA really didn’t win the title” based on his logic that Georgia really didn’t beat “Alabama” (due to injuries).

As I have had to accept many times in the past whether it be personally or as a fan, trophies tell the story that matters!

If we’re having to tell our version of the story or explain the outcome, it’s usually explaining “Why we didn’t” instead of getting to enjoy “What we did”!

Now starts a new season where everyone begins anew.

As a Georgia fan, I know one thing that I hope Kirby Smart & his team are beginning to internalize and for which they are readying themselves.

While it may be difficult to climb the mountain, it is another thing entirely to stay there!

Here’s to tomorrow and new beginnings – #GoDawgs!

The time is always right to do the right thing.

In honor of today’s observance of Martin Luther King, Jr’s birthday, I am sharing a quote central to his message.

Time is our most precious asset and, unfortunately, the one that too many of us waste. One of our most-heavily used excuses for avoiding something is that “it is not the “right” time”. History is awash with excuses that could only be defined as “Not Now”.

As Reverend King noted, there is never a “wrong” time to do the “right” thing!

If there is something that you should be doing (whether personal, professional, or whatever), Now is the time to act. There is nothing that we can do about the Past and no one’s Future is guaranteed.

We are ultimately judged by our decisions and our actions. Be sure that yours are the ones that you want to be remembered.

For those checking out the book reviews, I reviewed Twelve And A Half (Amazon affiliate link) by Gary Vaynerchuk. You can check out my notes at this link.

Keep a lookout as I have finished reading the following books and will be posting my notes for those very soon!

Other Links

Many of the links that I share involve Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and, more specifically, utilizing content to attract traffic. A big key to getting attention (for your website, your message, or your business) is sharing it in the most effective ways that your target audience will see it. Publishing content of interest to them about topics that they find important has to be a big part of any non-advertising-based strategy. Whereas advertising is about buying their attention (or more specifically, buying space in front of them), Content & SEO is about answering their biggest questions and best satisfying what they most want.

Here are some good links to check out if you are building your strategy for 2022:

I do not post a lot about Covid-19 – mainly because I lack much of the knowledge & expertise on the subject. However, I came across this story about Peter Hotez and Maria Bottanzzi about their work in Texas transitioning research previously done on SARS-1 adapting it to potential vaccine production for Covid-19.

Their work is unique from some other vaccine makers, but I support unique strategies against our biggest problems. As a worldwide problem, there is room for different approaches.

While this post on our website is focused specifically on Bankruptcy Attorneys, the ideas are relevant across a number of legal (and non-legal) verticals. Be sure to check it out.
