Change Keeps On Changing
Editor’s Note: This newsletter was originally published on Monday, March 7th, 2022.
We have all seen changes in recent years.
During the early stages of the Covid19 pandemic, I made the joke that it seemed like there was a “new normal” every day.
My sister is a registered nurse and shared early on that their policies and procedures were often changing on a per-shift basis. Rules or protocols that were shared when they got to work sometimes changed by the end of their shift.
Interestingly, our attention seems refocused from debates about continued masking or vaccinations to concerns about countries threatening (and invading) their neighbors.
It’s hard to imagine that we’re almost two months from UGA’s National Championship win and how the biggest stories from that day have so quickly changed.
There’s a saying in Georgia that “if you don’t like the weather, wait 15 minutes and it’ll change”. It seems as if it’s not just the weather anymore.
My recommendation is a little more patience and a bit more grace (both for yourself and others). We, humans, tend to be risk-averse and resistant to change. Unfortunately, the world in which we today live experiences quicker and more disruptive changes on a consistent basis than ever.
While there have been events that led to change (natural disasters, wars, etc), the pace, scope, and nature of today’s changes are unprecedented.
As an added hint, when you can find a few moments to relax and disconnect, take them. Getting some time to recharge is one of the best gifts that you can give yourself and it helps you be at your best for those around you!
Fake it until you make it is no way to live your life.

As we near College Basketball’s yearly March Madness period, this is a good time to reflect on a Michael Jordan quote. Jordan is one of the best NBA players to have ever graced a court.
For as much as “His Airness” became as an NBA player and multiple-time champion with the Chicago Bulls, it is interesting to look back at his collegiate career for a comparative measure.
Jordan played at UNC for three seasons where they won the NCAA Championship his Freshman year in 1982.
What is possibly not as well known is that his collegiate scoring average was just under 18 points per game over those three years. As a Freshman, he was only the fifth-leading scorer on that team.
In the NBA draft for 1984, Jordan was the third pick after Hakeem Olajuwon and Sam Bowie. (Interestingly, Jordan’s UNC running-mate Sam Perkins was picked fourth.)
All of this is just background, but it highlights that there was a spark in Michael Jordan that only clearly manifested as a professional.
He was a player who made things happen around him. Regardless of the talent around him on those Chicago teams (and there was a lot), when the games were on the line, everyone in the arena knew who was getting the ball.
More often than not, he delivered and fans still talk about him to this day because of it.

2022 SERP Trends for SEO
Optimizing for Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs) is a big goal of SEO initiatives. While it is not the single focus, it is important to be planning and measuring outcomes of your SEO & content initiatives via how your site ranks within results pages. Additionally, practices and techniques for how your listings display on the results pages directly impact the follow-up clicks that we work so hard to earn.

Best Link-Building Strategies For More Traffic
Building links effectively (and honestly) has become a major ranking factor for search engines. Highlighting a website’s Authoritative nature (from the E-A-T viewpoint of page quality), links from other sites signal search algorithms that your domain delivers value.
Google’s New Mechanism For Measuring Offline Leads
Tracking and measuring conversions is a big challenge that is only getting tougher as more and more advertisers utilize a multi-channel approach to their marketing strategy. To help in this task, Google Ads has introduced Enhanced Conversions for Leads following last year’s creation of Enhanced Conversions for Web. As we look to build an integrated system for tracking attention, leads, and (ultimately) conversions, these enhancements & tools continue to advance.
