Sirus Digital Newsletter – Edition 94

Success is not the key to Happiness; Happiness is the key to Success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful.
Finding Happiness in the journey has been key to achieving the goals (like Success) that I used to treat as a "destination". Just keep in mind that Happiness is your response to the situation. We can be happy and find joy regardless of our surroundings. You cannot control the event, but you can definitely control how you respond to it!

Don't Forget Mom!

Editor’s Note: This newsletter was originally published on Monday, May 2nd, 2022.

As a continuing service to those in the audience, here is your 6-day reminder. Sunday, May 8th is Mother’s Day!

All joking aside, if your Mom is still with you, be sure to take a moment to send her a card, make a phone call, or find some time to spend with her. (If you are a Mom, feel free to forward this email as a reminder to the folks in your life who should be remembering!)

I was lucky to have a great Mom. I understand that some people have challenging memories with their parents, but that was not my experience.

She often worked behind the scenes, but as my nephew can now attest from his high school baseball games – she was (and is) there! You need only listen to the radio broadcasts of his game to hear her cheers from the stands.

Too often we overlook the value that Moms add to our lives. Too often we see situations where a Mom might be going it alone working to raise her kids and only measure the situation from the perspective of what is missing (aka “Dad”).

Our Moms play a great part in our lives and it is not hard to see traits that they instill manifesting as we get older. Whether it’s a hug or a smile or a “look”, it’s most often seeking what is ultimately best for our lives.

Again, if your Mom is still around, take the time to connect with her this week. She will definitely be glad you did (and I expect that you will too).

P.S. If “Mom” happens to be the woman to whom you are married, *definitely* don’t forget! #YoureWelcome

Success is not the key to Happiness; Happiness is the key to Success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful.

I was looking for a good message about Success as we near the transition from Spring into Summer. This one seemed most applicable because so often we are looking for things to bring us Happiness when it is Happiness that leads us most effectively to things (like Success).

Whether it be my recent return to the outdoors and camping with Boy Scouts or writing on my blog or my day-to-day work, I can attest that enjoying what I do has led to better things overall.

From my vantage point, Finding Happiness in the journey has been key to achieving the goals (like Success) that I used to treat as a “destination”.

Also, keep in mind that Happiness is your response to the situation. We can be happy and find joy regardless of our surroundings. Being master of your response goes a long way toward mastery of what happens. You cannot control the event, but you can definitely control how you respond to it!

Have a great week!

For those checking out the book reviews, I reviewed Twelve And A Half (Amazon affiliate link) by Gary Vaynerchuk. You can check out my notes at this link.

Keep a lookout as I have finished reading the following books and will be posting my notes for those very soon!
